This is the disc which was a counterpart to Big Joe's 'Blues On Highway 49' and which, between them, were instrumental in reviving his career. Both were released on a small specialist label 'Delmark', which, over the years has released many fine blues and jazz records and to whose proprietor Bob Koester, many thanks are due/5(2).

This album was stuck in my cd player for months. The guitar phrasing in "Mellow Peaches" still blows me away every time I hear it. What makes this album great is the tremelo, and it's just incredible. This album really showcases what big joe does best and that's making complicated delta blues sound simpe/5(3).
